He truly is missed. I still remember how he sat with me as I was passed out in the bathroom, or how he would squat down as low as possible when he didn't want to be pet so as to glide by under my hand. I didn't know Mons had passed away. I'm so sorry. Had I known that, I'm not sure I would have read the story. Yeah . . . weepy eyes here, too. Bob has been with me for 16 years now, and I know it becomes more and more inevitable that she will not be with me for a whole lot longer. She's already lost a lot of weight this year. Still spunky and cantankerous as ever, and still my beautiful girl. I just don't know how I'm going to make it through that. I guess I'll have you to help me through it because of what you have gone through. While heartbreaking, though, it was a very well-written and entertaining short piece . . . especially for a cat-lover like myself. I especially liked the burger-eating/Mons-belching anecdote. I've never heard a cat burp, but I really want to now! Ah, God bless pets and the joy-peace-patience-love they bring to our lives. :) Hey Lisa -

What a lovely story ...I'm one of those bitches you talked about in the beginning of your story that says "I am a dog person" ...I do know how much you loved Mons ...and I was reminded of your tremendous love of cats, and how you almost took the stray we found in Seattle back to Chicago with you on the plane, and then we found her real daddy :) You had already named her "Piper" and when we reunited her with her owner, he was like "oh chloe, I was so worried" ...and you looked at me like "ooops!" ...I am so happy that Mons was part of your life for so long and that you learned so much from him! It's amazing how some animals are part human! OH!
