My parents have had a golden since she was a puppy, and we LOVE her. One time I accidentally left her alone in the kitchen for over an hour, and she started nibbling on the wallpaper, and by the time I returned, she had worked loose a corner of a sheet, yanked on it, and literally pulled down the entire sheet, from floor to ceiling. When I found her, she was laying in the middle of the kitchen, on top of a pile of shredded paper, proud of her accomplishment. :) Of course this was when she was a puppy, she's more mature now, but very capable of being riled up!
